Hall of Fame
To date, Tim Aalsma is the only player in Northwestern men’s basketball history to own places in all four of the program’s elite statistical groups – the 1,000 Point Club, 500 Rebound Club, 250 Assist Club and 150 Steals Club. One of the greatest players to wear an Eagles jersey, Aalsma’s accomplishments on the court far exceeded some of those plateaus though, which is evidenced by his 2,141 career points, which bests all players throughout the team’s 38-year history. Northwestern won conference championships in each of Aalsma’s four years while attending the NCCAA National Tournament in 1995 and 1998.
Following his college days, Tim has taken his talents to a different educational stage, teaching and coaching in both the private and public school settings. Stepping off of the basketball court, the staff, students, parents and families at Aalsma’s schools have become the community for Tim, his wife Sarah, and their four children. The biblical truths learned at Northwestern have helped him defend his faith in the workplace and impressed upon him the importance of raising children in a Godly way.
