Palke was a dominant offensive lineman for the University of Northwestern – notably, the greatest OL to ever compete for the Eagles. He led Northwestern to an 8-2 season in 2000 and an NCCAA Victory Bowl Championship and back-to-back UMAC Championships in 2001 and 2002 with undefeated league records. He garnered the following awards during his three-year career.

Joe is the son of longtime UNW coach, George Palke, and has been married to Laura for 10 years, and have a 6-year-old daughter, Rachael.
