A “team first” attitude makes a first place team.  So does hustle, preparation and “heads-up” play.  These were the qualities Scott Anderson carried onto the basketball court.  As a point guard in basketball, “Andy” was the floor leader for three conference championship teams, one NCCAA Division II National Champion (1980), and three National runner-ups (1981-1983).  While his career scoring statistics were impressive, it was his unselfish play that produced new school standards in career assists and charges taken.  He also brought his lightning speed, racing into the Northwestern College track and field record book in both high and intermediate hurdle events.

Named an NCCAA All-American three times, Scott became the only player selected four consecutive years to the NCCAA All-Tournament team.  The team named him their MVP three times.  Scott credited the team.  Scott’s goals outside of sports match his passion on the field of play: to make those around him better.  While a student at Northwestern, he was involved in Student Missionary Fellowship, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sports Ambassadors, discipleship training, and spicing up student life with more than a few pranks.  Since Northwestern, Scott has been contributing to his Grace Church Roseville “team” as an elder, youth sponsor, and small group leader.  He also works to make his community better by serving on a Family Council and coaching youth athletics.
