Football 1988-1990

Kriby Scull’s name is a staple in the Northwestern College football record books.  A three-time UMAC All-Conference student-athlete, his 162, 188 and 180 tackles in the 1988-1990 seasons trump the next-closest tackler to date by 65.  Scull recorded 28 tackles in a game three times, and continues to maintain first place in that category in the school records as well.

While no one in a Northwestern jersey has come close to Scull’s performances on the field, the now-math teacher and football coach’s approach to life is level with others around him as he seeks meaningful connections with his students in the classroom and on the football field.  God has worked in and through Kirby to accept everyone while showing Christ’s love to others.  Scull especially learned to take joy in adversity in his final year of football when watching Coach Chub Reynolds’ battle with cancer.  Through that experience, he is able to encourage others in their commitment to Christ, even in the toughest of times.
