In three years, Holly (Sabelman) Miller set a new standard for minding the net as a member of the Northwestern women’s soccer team. With Northwestern playing 20 games each season, Miller averaged 10 shutouts per year, meaning she sent one out of every two opposing teams home without a goal scored. Holly’s program records for career shutouts, season shutouts, career saves and career goals allowed average remain intact, setting a high bar for Eagles goalkeepers of the present and in the future.

Speaking of the future, Miller uses her soccer knowledge to coach and instruct players at the Fargo Soccer Club. Off the field she is active in Christian ministry, having served in a number of roles involving youth and families at local churches in the communities she and husband Jason have lived in. In addition to playing her role as a mother, Miller sees God working every day through her work at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, a residential treatment center for kids who are overwhelmed with brokenness and hurt due to physical and chemical abuse, depression, etc. Her experiences at Northwestern helped build a foundation of living with Christ and approaching life with a Christian worldview while training her to allow God to work in and through her in the sports arena.
