Ron Lievense completes the first father-son pair to be inducted into the Northwestern College Athletics Hall of Fame. As an Eagle, Lievense is one of 18 members of the men’s basketball 1,000-Point Club, and was the only player to reach that plateau in only two seasons. In addition to leading his team to a National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Championship in the 1979-80 season, Ron averaged 19.6 points per game in his career at Northwestern, and sits in the top ten for several notable records in men’s basketball history.

Lievense took his experience and leadership to the coaching platform, and has coached at every level with the exception of the NBA. As the winningest coach in Barton College history, Ron’s teams have excelled on the court, which is proven by the Bulldogs’ 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship. In all, Lievense’s teams have competed in the NCAA Tournament four times.

Ron, who is a proud husband and father of three girls, has been a vibrant sponsor of Barton’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter since its inception in 1998, and is a man who serves his Coach in Heaven in his daily activities.
