ST. PAUL, Minn. - Another week, another trio of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for the University of Northwestern. The conference announced its recipients of the weekly award Tuesday morning, and three Eagles were among them: Dreyer Homan (Clara City, Minn./MACCRAY), Bri Brandt (Blaine, Minn./Legacy Christian Academy) and Emery Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing).

Homan is now a three-time winner of the UMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week award, all coming this season. The senior made his final Reynolds Field start on Friday a memorable one, throwing a complete-game two-hitter to shut down Martin Luther in a 4-0 win. He capped off his regular season with 12 strikeouts in the game with no walks, and is the conference leader in strikeouts (45) and second in ERA (1.85).

Brandt makes her debut as the UMAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week after shooting a 79 (+7) at the MLC Spring Invite on Friday to claim her first-career individual medalist honor. The freshman also led UNW to the team title in the event and will look to build off her UMAC Rookie of the Year season in the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championship next month.

Maki continues to be a frequent flyer in the UMAC Athlete of the Week release, doing so for the second time this year as the Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and the seventh time in her career across track and field and cross country. She raced in three events and two meets last week, claiming second, third and sixth-place finishes. On Wednesday, Maki ran a season-best 2:17.14 in the 800 to finish sixth out of 59 runners at the Gary Wilson Invitational, for a new top time in the UMAC. On Saturday, the senior placed second in the 400-meter at the Janis Rider/Doug Bolstorff Invitational with a personal-best time of 59.67. Her new time shaved 2.01 seconds off her previous best and was only 0.4 away from the UNW program record. She also helped her 4x400 team to a third-place finish with a time of 4:16.91 (second in the UMAC). This is the fourth week in-a-row an Eagle has won the Women's Outdoor Track award.
