GREENVILLE, S.C. - After another stellar week on the links, the University of Northwestern has swept the golf portion of the National Christian College Athletic Association Student-Athlete of the Week awards, announced Monday afternoon.
Shane Seiffert (Corcoran, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) took home the Men's Golf honor, while
Morgan Eckman (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) was the Women's Golf recipient. This is the second time this season that UNW has swept the NCCAA golf awards in a given week.

Seiffert's accolade is the first from the NCCAA of his storied career, and he is the third Northwestern Men's golfer to win it this season. The three-time First Team All-UMAC golfer certainly earned it, beginning the week by winning medalist honors at the NCCAA North Central Regional with a two day score of -1 (73, 70). His efforts also led Northwestern to the team title, automatically qualifying the Eagles for the NCCAA National Championship next month in Palm Coast, Florida. Later in the week at the Midwest Region Classic, the senior fired a 73 (+1) on day one and a 74 (+2) on day two before Saturday's results were nullified due to inclement weather suspending the remainder of the tournament. His 73 put him in 27th place individually among 246 participants and helped UNW to a fourth-place finish among 45 teams.
Eckman is no stranger to NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week status, having won the award once already this season and three additional times prior to this year. The two-time NCCAA All-American once again automatically qualified for the NCCAA National Championship as an individual after turning in a two-round total of +6 (73, 77) to win the NCCAA North Central Regional by five strokes. She then carded a 74 (+2) on day one of the Midwest Region Classic and a 72 (E) on day two, which ties the program record she already shared with teammate
Paige Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool). The junior's two-day score of +2 appeared to be in position to medal again, but the aforementioned bad weather in Kansasville nullified Saturday's results, placing Eckman fifth but giving UNW the team title in a strong field of 39 teams after breaking its own program record for low team round from earlier this season.
