Iverson Named Player of the Year as Four Eagles Earn NCCAA All-Region Status

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The National Christian College Athletic Association has released its Softball All-Region Awards for the 2025 season. In the North Central Region, the University of Northwestern was heavily featured with four student-athletes on the All-Region Team. Among them was Jadyn Iverson (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo), who was named Region Player of the Year.

The full list of NCCAA North Central Region awards can be found here.

Iverson, who was also on the All-Region Team for the third time in her prolific career, put up career-highs in home runs (3), RBI (48), doubles (15), runs (29) and slugging percentage (.614) in 2025. The senior slugger also added to her record book presence this season by breaking program records for single-season RBI (48) and career RBI (144). She is scattered across the record book in other categories as well, including (but not limited to) fourth in career hits (194) and career putouts (961), and a tie for fourth in career doubles (46) and career total bases (260). She was also a stalwart in the field throughout her career, finishing top-10 in career fielding percentage (.981). In addition to her Region Player of the Year and All-Region Team honors, Iverson has also been named First Team All-UMAC, NCCAA First Team All-American and NFCA Third Team All-Region this postseason.

Joining Iverson on the All-Region Team was Mikayla Gee (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall), who adds the honor to her First Team All-UMAC and NFCA Second Team All-Region accolades from this season. The senior, who makes her debut on the All-North Central Region team, finished the season with 61 hits (third in program history for a single season) and a .452 batting average, which both led the team. She also entered the Northwestern record book with the second-most career runs scored (144), sixth-most runs in a single season (46) and the ninth-most career hits (166). At second base, Gee was also rock-solid in the field this season, turning in a fielding percentage of .940 with a career-high 76 putouts.

Ireland Strubbe (Chandler, Ariz./Valley Christian) was named to the All-Region Team for the second time in her career (2023) after a dominant season in the circle. The junior achieved career-bests in ERA (2.39), wins (15), strikeouts (102), complete games (13) and shutouts (5). Those numbers put her firmly into the Eagle record books: tied for second in single-season wins, third in career wins, fourth in career strikeouts, and fifth in career ERA sixth in single-season strikeouts and ERA. Lani Schoper (Madison Lake, Minn./Mankato West) made her debut on the All-Region team in her first year with UNW Softball, which also saw her earn UMAC All-Defense recognition. She accumulated the fifth most hits in a single season in program history (56) and the ninth-most single-season steals (24), in addition to hitting .415 with 33 RBI, 12 doubles and 41 runs.
