ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has released its Athlete of the Week award winners for October 27th-November 2nd, and four University of Northwestern student-athletes were among those recognized. In the final week of men's and women's soccer awards, UNW won three of the four, and also added another volleyball award.

Jay'ce Jones (Marina del Rey, Calif./Palisades Charter) was named UMAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career after a two-goal performance against Crown on Wednesday. The 3-0 win clinched Northwestern's spot in the upcoming UMAC Tournament and gave the freshman eight goals for the season.

Speaking of scoring goals, Haley Mersberger (Kiel, Wis./Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah) found the back of the net once against Crown and twice against Minnesota Morris en route to her second UMAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award, and the 10th of her career. She leads the team with 16 goals this season and is second in the conference. The senior's two goals in Saturday's win over Morris led the Eagles to their first conference championship since 2017 and clinched the No. 1 seed in this week's UMAC Tournament.

Mersberger was joined in the awards by her teammate, Mallory Moseman (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy), who earned her second UMAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week nod of both the season and her career. The senior scored her second goal of the season (and her career) in Wednesday's win over Crown, which proved to be the game-winner in a match Northwestern needed to win. She also anchored a defense that allowed just three shots and one goal over two games, and played all 90 minutes in the UMAC title-clinching win over the Cougars.

Rounding out UNW's week in the UMAC Athlete of the Week awards is none other than Addeson Jenniges (Walnut Grove, Minn./Westbrook-Walnut Grove), who takes home her seventh UMAC Volleyball Setter of the Week honor this season and her fifth in a row. The sophomore was dialed in all week, finishing with 47 and 46 assists for a total of 93 (11.63 per set) in wins over Saint Benedict and UW-Superior, respectively. Jenniges also added 10 digs and 2 blocks in the win over CSB to achieve the ninth double-double of her career. Her 10.55 assists per set this season rank seventh in NCAA Division III and first in the UMAC.
