ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has released the standings for the Kruse Award following the completion of the fall sports season, and the University of Northwestern sits atop the seven-member field.
The full UMAC press release can be accessed here.
The award, which is named after Jerome Kruse, a longtime athletic director at the former Northwestern College (Wis.) and Martin Luther College, is awarded to the full-member institution with the most points accumulated by the place finishes of the college's athletic teams in the final standings of 18 conference-sponsored sports.
UNW made history this fall, becoming the first UMAC institution to sweep all four women's fall conference championships—Women's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Women's Soccer, and Volleyball. The Eagles also finished second in football and secured third-place finishes in Men's Cross Country, Men's Golf, and Men's Soccer. With 43 points, Northwestern holds a four-point lead over UW-Superior as the conference heads into the winter season.
