GREENVILLE, S.C. - With one weeks of the 2026-27 athletic year in the books, two University of Northwestern student-athletes have already received national recognition as National Christian College Athletic Association Student-Athletes of the Week. Anna Egge and
Morgan Philyaw (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) each were honored by the NCCAA as the Student-Athlete of the Week in their respective sports for excellent performances.

Egge was named NCCAA DI Women's Volleyball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after a scorching-hot start to the 2026 campaign. The junior logged 21 kills (seven per set) on .514 hitting in a season-opening sweep at Saint Benedict, and totaled 60 kills (4.62 per set) in total as the Eagles went 3-1 on the week. In the final game of the Kathryne Pals Legacy Invitational, for which Egge was named to the All-Tournament Team, the South Dakota native recorded a 13-kill, 12-dig double-double.
Philyaw is no stranger to the NCCAA Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week honor, although the six other times she was awarded it, her last name was Eckman. The senior star kicked off her final collegiate season with a bang, winning the UNW Invite with a score of 73 (+1) and leading Northwestern to a program record for low team score (302), breaking the record the same four players set last season. Over the weekend, Philyaw continued to score well, carding rounds of 75 and 79 to tie for fifth place at the St. Kate's Invite and help UNW claim the team title in a strong field of some of Minnesota's top Division III programs.
