ST. PAUL, Minn. - One day after a pair of University of Northwestern student-athletes were named NCCAA Student-Athletes of the Week, they were joined by a third in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week awards. Haley Mersberger (Kiel, Wis./Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah), Anja Jarchow (Luverne, Minn./Luverne) and Addeson Jenniges (Walnut Grove, Minn./Westbrook-Walnut Grove) were all honored in the announcement after excellent weeks in their respective sports.

Mersberger's UMAC Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week award is the ninth of her legendary career, but surprisingly just the first of her senior season. The two-time UMAC Offensive Player of the Year, who was also named NCCAA Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, scored five goals in a pair of shutout wins last week, including a hat trick in the win at North Central in which she also added an assist.

Jarchow makes her debut in the awards as the UMAC Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week. The sophomore put up 37 kills (4.11 per set), including 14 against Martin Luther and a career-high 15 against Crown, hitting .400 and .419, respectively, in those matches. Jarchow also recorded 13 digs and 3 blocks on the week.

Jarchow was joined by her teammate, Jenniges, who is now a five-time UMAC Volleyball Setter of the Week award winner this season and has won it in three consecutive weeks. The sophomore, who was named NCCAA Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, dished out 100 assists in three conference sweeps despite playing only eight of nine sets, good for 12.5 assists per set. Her 10.59 assists per set this season rank sixth in NCAA Division III and first in NCCAA DI.
