Women's Golf Receives At-Large Bid to NCCAA National Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Morgan Eckman (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) is going to be a lot less lonely in Florida in three weeks. The National Christian College Athletic Association announced its 2025 Women's Golf National Championship field Wednesday morning, and the University of Northwestern was included as the lone at-large selection in the field of six teams. 2025 will mark the first time the UNW Women's Golf team has participated in the event as a full team, and the first time both the men's and women's teams compete in the same year.

The full NCCAA press release can be found here.

Initially, Eckman was going to be the only member of the women's team participating in the event, as she has the previous two years as an individual qualifier from the NCCAA North Central Regional. However, due to a Northwestern policy change in at-large qualification standards, the Eagles were allowed to accept the bid and can now compete for the team championship. UNW finished runner-up at the North Central Regional, 18 strokes behind Bethel (Indiana), who earned the region's automatic bid to the championship.

The Eagles will tee off for day one of three of the tournament at Hammock Beach Resort's Conservatory Course on Monday, October 20th. They will also be competing in the UMAC Championship beginning this Thursday at 11:00 AM.
