CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - History was made Friday afternoon when the monthly Mizuno Women's Golf Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll was released. The University of Northwestern Women's Golf team was listed at the bottom of the table, having received its first top 25 vote in program history.

The recognition is well-deserved for Northwestern, who is on a heater in recent weeks. After Morgan Eckman (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) won the NCCAA North Central Regional early last week, the Eagles and Paige Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool) each claimed titles at the weekend's Midwest Region Classic in a field of 39 teams that included Aurora University, who continues to receive votes in the WGCA poll. UNW has won three events already this season heading into Friday, with the other two events resulting in runner-up finishes.

As of this posting, the Eagles are on the course at the BLC Invite at Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson, Minnesota. They will also compete in the MLC Fall Invitational Saturday at Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
