MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The University of Northwestern Men's Track and Field team sent a trio of athletes to Dinkytown on Wednesday afternoon to compete in the University of Minnesota's Gary Wilson Invite.
 
Ashton Lofton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian) was the only Eagle to compete in multiple events as he represented UNW in the short distance events. In the 100M Dash, Lofton turned in a time of 12.30 seconds. Lofton was flirting with turning in a career best time; his PR (and season best) in the 100M is 12.03 seconds. It was a similar story for Lofton in the 200M Dash as he finished in 25.65 seconds and his PR in the 200M is 25.27 seconds.
 
John Thomas III (St. Cloud, Minn./Apollo) turned in the lone PR for the Eagle men on Wednesday, breaking his previously fastest time in the 400M Dash by nearly two seconds. Thomas III's time in the event was 59.54 seconds as he cracked the one minute barrier for the first time as an Eagle.
 
Nathan Eikom (Eagan, Minn./Homeschool) was knocking on the door of a PR in the 800M Run. His PR in the event is 2:09.49 and on Wednesday at the U of M he crossed the finish line at 2:10.18.
 
UNW Men's Track and Field fans will not have to wait long to see the Eagles in action once more. The Eagles are competing in the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational at Macalester College on Saturday, April 27^th. The 5K and Hammer Throw events are taking place on Thursday, April 25^th.
