ST. PAUL, Minn. - On a rainy day, the University of Northwestern Men's Track and Field took on runners from all three divisions at the Bethel University Gene Glader Classic.
Remi Fagerland (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Central) earned a third-place finish in the Javelin. His final throw was his farthest at 47.72m (156' 6"). He placed behind two throwers from the University of St. Thomas.
In their first collegiate track meet,
David Darko (Tomball, Texas/Tomball) and
Zak Walters (Luck, Wis./Luck) represented UNW in the Triple Jump. Darko recorded a distance of 11.47m (37' 7.75") for a 15th-place finish. Walters was just behind him in 16
th with a jump of 11.02m (36' 2").
Unfortunately, due to the increasing rainfall, with several events remaining, the meet was canceled. This impacted the Eagle runner in the 200m (
Reid Jelks (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul)) and the 5000m runners (
Tyler Dueber (Bloomington, Minn./Homeschool),
Owen Van De Riet (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville), and
Caleb Phillips (Poplar, Wis./South Shore))
