ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced the Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference and All-Sportsmanship award winners on Wednesday afternoon. To receive an All-Conference honor, an athlete must finish first, second, or third in an individual event or win a relay at the UMAC Championships, which took place this past weekend. The University of Northwestern Men's Track and Field teams had two athletes recognized as All-Conference, while the team and Owen Van De Riet (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) were voted for the Sportsmanship honors.
Remi Fagerland (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Central) picked up All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in the javelin, turning in a strong performance in his first outdoor season. Tyler Dueber (Bloomington, Minn./Homeschool) also earned All-Conference recognition after finishing second in the 5000-meter run in his first outdoor conference meet. He adds to his season resume after earning All-Conference honors in the same event during the indoor season. Van De Riet was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, and the Eagles were also selected as the UMAC Team Sportsmanship Award recipient.
