WEST SALEM, Wis. – The Northwestern Women's Cross Country Team competed in their fifth and final race before the UMAC Championship, which will be held on November 2
nd. The Eagles battled against a cooler morning with gusts of wind around 10 MPH and collectively finished the 6k race 18
th out of 20 teams at the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday morning.
Caroline Ringsmuth (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) did not race in the Eagles' last meet, but came back this week and crossed the finish line first for the team with a time of 25:02.1. The experienced junior was the only returning UNW runner to compete in this invitational last year, and she improved her time on this course by 34 seconds. Finishing the race 18 seconds later was
Isabelle Yuhanna (Ham Lake, Minn./North Lakes Academy) with a time of 25:20.8.
Allie Arredondo (Robbinsdale, Minn./Homeschool) turned in a time of 26:36.6 almost matching her PR that she set last race.
Samary Acuna Arroliga (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) clocked 29:24.4 for the Eagles, while
Kimberlyn Case (Sleepy Eye, Minn./Litchfield) finished in 29:51.2.
Jada Rounds (Rochester, Minn./Homeschool) was the final Eagles' runner to cross the line in 33:04.2.
Northwestern will have two weeks to finalize their preparation for the UMAC Championship on the 2
nd at 12:00 PM in Winthrop, Minnesota.
