MENOMONIE, Wis.- The University of Northwestern Men's Track and Field team competed in the Warren Bowlus Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday which means that the wait for the Eagles' indoor track and field season is officially over. The Men's team competed at UW-Stout alongside UNW's Women's Track and Field program. Similar to the ladies' squad, the highlight of the day was some of the strong performances that came from the new faces on the Eagles' Men's Track and Field team.
Jah'Kiing Joseph (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Heritage), fresh off of a fall in which he played football for the Eagles, made a big splash in the first meet of his collegiate career. The freshman showed off his versatility as he performed well on the track and in the field on Saturday. He picked up a top five finish by landing in the fifth spot overall with a time of 7.23 seconds in the 60M Dash. This was the fourth fastest time an Eagle has ever recorded in the 60M at Stout's event. Joseph then transitioned to the field where he competed in the Long Jump. He finished eighth overall with a distance of 6.13m.
John Shevchuk (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine), an Eagle veteran, competed in the prelims for the 60M Dash where he finished with a time of 7.67 seconds. In the 200M Dash, the senior turned in a time of 24.77 seconds to finish in 17
