LEXINGTON, Ky.- On Monday, Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) of #4 University of Northwestern Volleyball was named the UMAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week and the NCCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. On Tuesday, the libero picked up another major national award.

Schroyer was announced as the AVCA/GameChanger Division III National Player of the Week for her performance this past week. The American Volleyball Coaches Association covers volleyball throughout the entire nation and is the top organization in DIII Volleyball. This is the most prestigious weekly award that a DIII Volleyball player can earn.

Schroyer finished the week with 6.6 digs per set. However, the highlight of her week was becoming only the 10^th player in the history of NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball to reach 3,000 career digs. The AVCA, recognizing how important of an achievement this is and paired with Schroyer's impressive performances this week (including 31 digs against Wisconsin-Eau Claire (RV)), decided that Schroyer was the most deserving player in the nation for this weekly award.

#4 UNW Volleyball will be traveling to New York City this upcoming weekend for games with #10 New York University, #20 North Park University, and Rowan University.
