Eagles Drop Labor Day Match to Wartburg

Box Score ST. PAUL, MINN.- The University of Northwestern Men's Soccer team played their 2022 home opener on Monday night when they hosted Wartburg College. The visiting Knights defeated the hometown Eagles 5-0.

However, Wartburg would score in the 21st and 26th minutes to take a 2-0 lead that they would never surrender. There would be no more goals scored in the frame and the Eagles trailed by two going into halftime.

Within the first eight minutes of the second half, Wartburg had doubled their lead. Goals in the 48th and 53rd minutes gave the visitors a 4-0 lead. The Knights would add one more in the 70th minute to bring the game to its final score of 5-0.
