INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Northwestern women's basketball team has been voted as one of the top teams in the region. With the playoff season approaching, the NCAA announced the teams that made the cut, and the Eagles were chosen as one of the top nine teams in Region IX.
UNW was joined on the list by Augsburg (RV), Bethany Lutheran, Loras, No. 5 Simpson, No. 19 Wartburg, No. 18 Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Wisconsin-Oshkosh (RV), and No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater. The teams were released in alphabetical order, with the official rankings set to be released publicly next week.
Before the rankings are announced next week, the Eagles will take on a pair of conference opponents on the road, starting on Friday at 5:30 P.M. at Northland and then on Saturday at 3 P.M. against UW-Superior.
