Box Score 2 JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Northwestern volleyball team headed to Jamestown, North Dakota for a Saturday double header against Briar Cliff University and the University of Jamestown. The Eagles were looking to get back on track today after dropping a match last Saturday to Mayville State. UNW went 2-0 on the day as they were able to take down Briar Cliff in 4 sets, 3-1, before defeating Jamestown in the evening, 3-0.

Northwestern 3, Jamestown 0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-16)
Set 1 started off with multiple lead changes early but Jamestown would start to pull away, getting the score to 18-12 at one point. The Eagles would not back down though as they went on a run to score 6 points in a row and take the last 2 points of the match to win the set 25-23.
Set 2 was déjà vu for the Eagles as once again they got down early in this one, being down 18-11. Though just like set 1, UNW would storm back to bring the score to 16-23 and would go on an 8 point run thanks to
Kendra Hardy's (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria) multiple kills to bring the score to 24-23. The Eagles would continue the run by closing out Jamestown to take the set, 27-25.
The final set would consist of a few back and forth lead changes before the Eagles took control of the set, never giving up the lead again. UNW Would close this set out, 25-16, and take the match 3-0.
Kendra Hardy (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria) would lead the Eagles in kills for the match with 14, while also adding an ace.
Kalley Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./Central Christian) would add 8 kills while sophomore
Gabby Straub (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) would be active in all stat categories tonight with 7 kills, 2 blocks, 3 assists and 9 digs.
Sydney Schwitters (Clara City, Minn./MACRAY) dished out 29 assists in this match while also adding 8 digs.
On the defensive end, Sophomore
Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins) led the way in digs for the Eagles, having 16 on the night while also adding an ace.
Soleil Newland (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids - Rice) led UNW in block with 4, while
Caitlyn Pruis (Sioux Falls, SD./Sioux Falls Christian) had 2 for the match.
UNW now sits at 6-3 on the season.
The Eagles will look to extend their winning streak next Saturday, October 10
th, when they travel to Mayville, North Dakota for a double header against Dickinson State University at 3pm and Mayville State at 5pm.
