LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Northwestern Volleyball team continues to gain traction in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll. UNW's vote count increased from 107 to 129 this week, and it maintained its spot at No. 27 overall, just outside the top 25.

Northwestern's vote increase comes after a 2-0 week which featured a pair of conference sweeps to keep the Eagles unbeaten in the UMAC. UNW is no longer the top-ranked Minnesota team, as St. Olaf jumped ahead of it to 26th after a five-set upset win at previously-No. 4 UW-Eau Claire, who fell 10 spots in the poll after an 0-3 week. Northwestern and St. Olaf will square off in the Ericksen Center on Wednesday, October 28th.
Other UNW opponents of past and present rose and fell in the poll this week, including UW-Oshkosh, who dropped one spot to No. 3 after being swept by No. 1 Illinois Wesleyan. Juniata rose one spot to No. 10, while Dubuque continued to climb, gaining two spots and coming in at No. 15. Bethel and UW-Platteville each received more votes this week, coming in at 30th and 32nd overall, respectively. One of Platteville's wins was a sweep over Eau Claire.
The Eagles's next match will be a big one for conference implications, as they travel to Minnesota Morris, Friday night, for the UMAC Game of the Week at 7:00 PM.
