NCCAA Tournament Preview: Eagles vs. Emmanuel


ST. PAUL – The University of Northwestern will play its first National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division I Tournament opponent on Wednesday afternoon at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. Eight teams will be competing for the NCCAA Division I title this week. Over 100 Christian colleges and universities comprise the NCCAA involving well over 13,000 student-athletes and 850 coaches. The fifth-seeded Eagles will play No. 4 Emmanuel College at 1:45 p.m. ET at Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center, which seats over 2,000 fans.

Emmanuel College, located in Franklin Springs, Georgia, stands at an overall record of 17-10 this season, with a conference record of 13-9. The lions are a part of Conference Carolinas among 11 other institutions. Emmanuel is a member of Division II in the NCAA.

If the Eagles win on Wednesday, they will advance to the next round on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET playing the winner of the Lee University and Southwestern Assemblies of God contest. If Northwestern loses on Wednesday, they will play in the consolation bracket on Thursday afternoon at 12 p.m. ET. With three guaranteed games this week, the Purple and Gold will have the opportunity to see the court a few more times before the 2014-2015 season comes to a close.

All games will be played in the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center (610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, IN 46590). Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students. For those attending all three games, a four-day pass is also available for purchase for $30.
