ST. PAUL -- The Northwestern College volleyball team returns to the Ericksen Center on Saturday for a triangular with Martin Luther College and Gustavus Adolphus College. The Eagles are coming off of a 3-0 win over Bethany Lutheran on Friday night.

NWC is having one of its best starts in 2011, currently boasting a 12-2 overall record and a six-match winning streak. The Eagles returned from last weekend's Macalester College Invitational unscathed, defeating all four of their opponents in quick 3-0 matches. Outside hitter
Chelsea Koth (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and setter
Krista Stoltz (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) were named the UMAC Offensive Player and Setter of the Week after their performances at the Macalester tournament. Stoltz is currently ranked ninth amongst all NCAA Division III setters with 10.88 assists per set.
Martin Luther entered this weekend's UMAC action with a 6-7 overall record to begin the 2011 campaign. As a team, the Knights are averaging 9.89 kills per set and a .153 attacking percentage. Several players are contributing to Martin Luther's offense while Kayla Schoeneck is leading the way on offense with a 2.06 kills per set average. Miranda Maasz has hovered around 7.74 assists per set for the Knights.
Gustavus Adolphus started this week with a 9-4 record, losing its lone Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match to seventh-ranked St. Thomas 3-0. The Gusties played four matches at the Bethany Lutheran Invitational last week, winning all four contests.
