Men's Soccer loses tight game to Minnesota Morris in UMAC opener

Box Score ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- The Northwestern College men's soccer team lost a close 1-0 battle to the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday afternoon in the Eagles' UMAC-opening game at Mounds View High School. The Cougars' Ebrima Badgie's goal in the 62nd minute was the difference maker as the Eagles lost their fourth game of the season by one goal.

Badgie's game-winning goal was assisted by Matt Johnson, as Badgie sent a bullet into the left side of the net, not allowing Northwestern goalkeeper Eric Bocan (Anoka, Minn./Meadow Creek) (Anoka, Minn./Meadow Creek) an opportunity to get his hands on the ball.

Each team had both nine shots and five shots on goal in the game. Bocan finished with four saves on the day.

Northwestern falls to 1-5 on the season, beginning its UMAC campaign at 0-1.  The Eagles will continue their league schedule on Thursday, September 22 when they travel southwest to play Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn. at 5 p.m.
