Men's Soccer edged by St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. -- The Northwestern College men's soccer team was shut out in its game against the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon, as the Saints defended their turf with a 2-0 victory.

Toby Peter and Cody Sveiven had goals for St. Scholastica in the game, both of which came in the second period. St. Scholastica outshot the Eagles 14-8 while owning a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks as well.

Josh Niedermayer (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine) had three saves as he worked all 90 minutes in front of the net for Northwestern.

The Eagles fall to 4-10-1 (4-5-1 UMAC) with the loss, while St. Scholastica improves to 12-1-2 (9-1-1 UMAC). Next on Northwestern's schedule is a nonconference game against Carleton College on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Game time in Northfield, Minn. is scheduled for 4 p.m.
