Men's Soccer season ends with 2-0 loss to St. Scholastica

Box Score

DULUTH, Minn. (Nov. 4, 2008)
– Another chapter of Northwestern men's soccer closed on Tuesday, as the Eagles' 2008 season ended with a 2-0 defeat to the College of St. Scholastica in the first round of the UMAC tournament. NWC had played the reigning UMAC champions tough this year, battling to a 2-0 win and 0-0 tie earlier in the season, but the Saints held the edge on Tuesday.

Courtney Bonnick and Brandon Stemwedel each scored for St. Scholastica, who led 1-0 at halftime. Bonnick's goal came on a breakaway, while Stemwedel's score came from the far corner.

St. Scholastica owned a 9-5 advantage in shots and a 7-0 margin on corner kicks.

The Eagles wrap up their season at 8-11-2 overall and 7-5-2 in UMAC play, where they finished fourth.
