Northfield, Minn., Oct. 23, 2007 – After wrapping up their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular season last weekend, the Northwestern College men's soccer team took on a high-powered Carleton College in non-conference action, falling to the Knights 2-0 in Northfield.
Carleton, who entered the contest at 13-1-3 overall, scored a goal in each of the two halves, with the first at 26:22 by Thomas Ashton, who was assisted by Bobby Phillips. Phillips then recorded a goal of his own in the 83rd minute, putting a shot past Northwestern keeper

The Knights held a 14-4 advantage in shots, including an 11-2 comparison in the first half alone. Carleton also had 10 corner kicks, while Northwestern had five attempts from the corner.
King had six saves in the loss.
At 8-10-2, the Eagles will likely assume the fourth seed in the UMAC Final Four, which takes place on Nov. 2 and 3 in Duluth, Minn.
