KENOSHA, Wis. - Coming off a pair of runner-up finishes to open the 2026-27 season, the University of Northwestern Men's Golf team begins a busy week by competing in the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic. The Eagles finished in seventh place in the event a year ago. Follow along with live scoring, Monday and Tuesday, here.

Day One

Round one couldn't have gone better for Northwestern, who sits atop the leaderboard among the 16 teams after firing a team score of 287 (-1), one shot ahead of Millikin. The mark is tied for the second-best round in program history, trailing the top mark (set last season) by two strokes. Marshall Kraft (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) is much of the reason for the red number, as the freshman recorded two birdies, one eagle and just on bogey on his way to a career-best 69 (-3), which has him tied for second place, individually, heading into the final day. Carson Besonen (Madison, Minn./Lac qui Parle Valley) is in red numbers through round one as well, using four birdies to card a 71 (-1), which ties him for fourth. Carson Moscoco went especially low on the back nine with three birdies (and four total on the day) to come in tied for eighth at an even-par 72, while Tanner Doeden (Fargo, N.D./Park Christian) rounded out the countable scores with a 75 (+3) after a birdie on the last. Luke Frazell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) birdied the final two holes of his round and hopes to ride that momentum into Tuesday after a 78 (+6) today.

The final round of the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic will begin at 8:30 AM on Tuesday. Tee times are still to be determined as of the time of this posting.
