ST. PAUL, Minn. - As the University of Northwestern Men's Golf team wraps up its fall season at the NCCAA National Championship Wednesday, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced its 2026 Men's Golf Awards. UNW, who won its first conference championship since 2016 this fall, was well-represented on the list, with all five of its championship participants, plus its coach, included.

Head Coach
Billy Aune headlined Northwestern's involvement, winning a well-deserved Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Eagles to the conference crown in his 31st year at the helm. It is his fifth UMAC Coach of the Year honor on the men's side, in addition to eight as the women's coach.
Carson Besonen (Madison, Minn./Lac qui Parle Valley) led Aune's golfers as the lone member of the All-Conference First Team, earning the honor for the second time in as many seasons on campus. The sophomore finished the UMAC season with a season average of 75.1, which would tie for the fourth-best in program history if it holds. Besonen tallied three top-5 finishes this season, with a low round of 71 (-1) in the first round of the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic.
Carson Moscoso (Maple Grove, Minn./Maranatha Christian Academy) makes his debut on the All-Conference awards list after a breakout sophomore season that earned him a Second Team nod. The Maple Grove native entered this week with a season average of 76.1, which would also break into the top 10 all-time if it holds. He began his season with a bang, carding a career-low 70 (-2) at the UNW Invite, and tied for fifth at the UMAC Championship, his second top-5 of the season. The Eagles also had a pair of Honorable Mention selections, including
Tanner Doeden (Fargo, N.D./Park Christian). The sophomore transfer made his mark on the team with three top-10 finishes and one top-5, and kept all his rounds between 73 and 80, with a scoring average of 76.8.
Luke Frazell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) was the the Honorable Mention recipient with a season average of 77.8 and two top-5 results. The sophomore's season low came at the UNW Invite, when he tied for the top spot with a 69 (-3). Senior
Carter Dilly (Henning, Minn./Henning) was the team's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team, indicative of his leadership, attitude and class this season and throughout his career.
