BECKER, Minn. - Playing for the second time in as many opportunities this season against the rest of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, the University of Northwestern Men's Golf team logged a second runner-up finish Thursday at the UMAC Preview. The Eagles finished with a team score of 302 (+14), four strokes behind Bethany Lutheran (who also won last week's UNW Invite) and four shots ahead of third-place Minnesota Morris at Pebble Creek Golf Club.

UNW was led by a trio of players who tied for fifth, individually, at 75 (+3). Sophomore Carson Besonen (Madison, Minn./Lac qui Parle Valley) recovered from an early double bogey to make five birdies for his 75, while freshman Marshall Kraft (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) made three birdies for his. Sophomore transfer Tanner Doeden (Fargo, N.D./Park Christian) was steady all day en route to his 75, making just one birdie but 14 pars, including eight on the back. Carson Moscoso (Maple Grove, Minn./Maranatha Christian Academy) tied for 11th with the final contributing score of 77 (+5), while Luke Frazell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) finished one shot back in a tie for 17th at 78 (+6). Northwestern's lowest individual score actually belonged to Luke's brother, Noah Frazell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock), who took fourth place with a 74 (+2), playing as an individual. The junior made 14 pars and a birdie. Jackson Courteau (Otsego, Minn./Rogers) and Eliah Harding (Prentice, Wis./Prentice) were the other two Eagles competing as individuals, and carded scores of 78 (+6) and 83 (+11), respectively.

UNW will leave the state of Minnesota for the first time next week to compete in the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic, Monday and Tuesday in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
