The Patriots, whose only affiliation is with the NCCAA, own a 21-10 record this season. Hailing from Arlington, Texas, ABU qualified for the tournament as an at-large selection from the Central Region. In the Central Region Tournament, Arlington Baptist played all three of its games against other NCCAA World Series teams, defeating eight-seed Dallas Christian, 6-2, before losing 12-2 to No. 2 Southwestern Christian and 13-7 to No. 4 Wayland Baptist. The Patriots, who closed out the regular season on a 10-game winning streak, also played five games against NCAA Division I schools in 2026, going 1-4. The lone win came on February 7th against Grambling, whom ABU defeated 4-3.

The three-day, 15-game, double-elimination tournament will begin on Monday, May 18th. The winner of the Northwestern-Arlington Baptist game will play immediately at 6:00 PM against the winner of the No. 2 Southwestern Christian vs. No. 7 Kentucky Christian contest. The loser will have the rest of the night off before playing at 1:00 PM on Tuesday in an elimination game against the 2 vs. 7 loser.
