GREENVILLE, S.C. – One week after the University of Northwestern Softball team took home the NCCAA National Championship Trophy, the National Christian College Athletic Association announced the two All- American teams. UNW earned three All-American nods as
Lani Schoper (Madison Lake, Minn./Mankato West) landed on the first team and
Ireland Strubbe (Chandler, Ariz./Valley Christian) and
Emma Edwards (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) were named to the second team all for the first time in their careers. Additionally,
Alicia du'Monceaux was voted Coach of the Year.

Schoper did a mix of everything for the Eagles this season. She led the team in batting average (.425), OPS (1.142), at-bats (167), runs (56), hits (71), doubles (21), triples (2), total bases (108), slugging percentage (.647), on-base percentage (.495), and stolen bases (21). The shortstop is now the program record holder for runs, hits, at-bats, total bases, and doubles. She was named to the All-Tournament team last week and was voted UMAC First Team All-Conference and UMAC All-Defensive. The senior was also named the NCCAA Deb Thompson Award winner.
Strubbe had a stellar year, settling in as one of Northwestern's best all-time pitchers. She broke the single-season wins, innings pitched, and fielding percentage. She also broke the career pitching wins and strikeout records. She was named Most Outstanding Player in the NCCAA National Tournament. Strubbe was also named UMAC Pitcher of the Year, First-Team All-Conference, and All-Defensive for her impressive season. She led the conference in ERA (2.10), opposing batting average (.216), and batters struck out (176).
Edwards led the team in RBI with 57 and home runs with 10. She is Northwestern's new record holder for RBI and tied the record for home runs in a single season. Edwards was second on the team in OPS (1.052), at-bats (157), hits (59), and total bases (108), third on the team in batting average (.376), and slugging percentage (.618). At first base, the junior faced the highest volume with 318 catches and 305 putouts. She finished the season with only four errors and a fielding percentage of .987.
Coach du'Monceaux was named Coach of the Year after leading her team to a 33-16 record and an NCCAA National Championship in their first appearance.
