MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Northwestern Men's track and field team sent five athletes to the University of Minnesota for the Gary Wilson Invitational on Wednesday. This is the largest meet of the season, featuring 44 teams from NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and several unattached groups.
Tyler Dueber (Bloomington, Minn./Homeschool) opened the meet for the men's team in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing 17th with a time of 10:45.05.
Joshua Ringsmuth (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and
Samuel Otis (Shoreview, Minn./Homeschool) competed in the 800m, with Ringsmuth placing 59th in 2:08.69 and Otis finishing 65th in 2:12.08.
In the 1500m,
Caleb Phillips (Poplar, Wis./South Shore) led the way with a 15th-place finish in 4:35.06, while
Owen Van De Riet (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) followed in 19th with a time of 4:41.39.
These runners will have a quick turnaround as they will race on Friday and Saturday at Macalester College for the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational.
