ST. PAUL, Minn. - On a chilly Saturday afternoon, the University of Northwestern Men's Track and Field team traveled down the road to Hamline University for the second outdoor meet of the season, the Hamline Invitational.
Khai Greene (Buford, Ga./Mill Creek) competed in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, in which he finished 61st and 47th with times of 12.8 and 26.35, respectively. Joining Greene in the 200 was Will Dorch (Rapid City, S.D./Stevens). Dorch opened his 2025 outdoor season with a time of 23.99, finishing 33rd in the event. Dorch also raced in the 400 meter dash. He placed 22nd with a time of 54.72. A little under two seconds ahead of Dorch was teammate, Joshua Ringsmuth (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove). With Ringsmuth's time of 52.79, he finished 14th and recorded a personal best time in the race. Also racing in the 400, finishing 35th, was Samuel Otis (Shoreview, Minn./Homeschool). Otis crossed the finish line in 59.83 seconds.
Otis also raced in the 1500 meter race alongside five other Eagle runners. Leading the team in the event, Tyler Dueber (Bloomington, Minn./Homeschool) crossed the finish line first for Northwestern in 23rd place with a time of 4:26.56. Two seconds behind Dueber, Jacob Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) placed 26th, turning in a time of 4:28.04. Bennett Selfridge (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Christian), Owen Van De Riet (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and Otis finished within 2.5 seconds of each other in 38th, 40th, and 41st. Selfridge ended with a time of 4:38.97, Van De Riet recorded a career best time of 4:40.13, and Otis stopped the clock at 4:41.09. Peter Kephart (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) followed with a time of 4:48.25 in 52nd place. In the 3000 Steeple Chase, Nate Moser (West Des Moines, Iowa/Des Moines Christian) represented UNW and finished 13th with a personal best time of 11:41.03
The Men's team will travel the opposite direction on Snelling next Saturday for the Bethel Invitational.
