Baseball Moves up Two Games, Season Opener Now Friday

ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the second year in a row, there will be February baseball played at Reynolds Field. The University of Northwestern Baseball team announced on Tuesday that two games, previously scheduled for later in the spring, will now be played over the next six days.

UNW's season was originally set to begin on March 7th in Florida against Susquehanna, but due to a clear field and warm (enough) temperatures, the Eagles will now open their season on Friday, February 28th at 3:00 PM against Bethel. The Bethel game was previously scheduled as part of a doubleheader at Reynolds Field on March 19th. The Eagles and Royals will now play single, nine-inning games on both February 28th and March 19th.

The second game moved up into the coming days was Northwestern's home tilt against Augsburg, previously scheduled for April 7th. The Eagles and Auggies will now be playing that single, nine-inning game at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 3rd instead, giving UNW two games before traveling to Florida.
