ST. PAUL, Minn. - Six members of the University of Northwestern Baseball team have been named National Christian College Athletic Association All-North Central Region for the 2026 season. Three of the honorees were freshmen, and senior pitcher
Dreyer Homan (Clara City, Minn./MACCRAY) added another accolade to a growing list this season with the region's Pitcher of the Year award.
Homan, who was also named a First Team NCCAA All-American and the recipient of the organization's Hank Burbridge Award, was recognized as the top pitcher in the North Central Region and a First Teamer after a terrific conclusion to his career. After moving from the bullpen to the top of the starting rotation, the senior finished the season with a 4.21 ERA and a 2.66 ERA in conference games, with 83 and 53 strikeouts, respectively, which both led the conference and were seventh in the NCCAA. The Clara City native also went 1-2 at the plate as a hitter, notably launching a memorable, two-run home run over the left field wall in his final home game. Joining Homan on the First Team was his fellow NCCAA All-American (Third Team),
Jack Burns (Plainfield, Ill./Aurora Christian), who led the team in RBI (41), doubles (10), triples (5) and slugging percentage (.500), and was second in batting average (.340), OPS (.904) and stolen bases (9). The freshman also had success on the mound in addition to starting games at third base, second base, shortstop and right field. Burns sported an ERA of 2.19 in 12.1 innings this season, including 0.00 in 7.1 innings of conference action. His five triples also tied him for the nationwide lead among NCCAA schools.
Two of Burns's classmates were also recognized as First Team All-Region selections.
Davis Winter (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East), an All-Conference Honorable Mention honoree this season, led the NCCAA in hit-by-pitches this season with 30, which also broke the UNW program record by leaps and bounds. The rookie's .488 on-base percentage and 41 runs both led the Eagles, his 45 hits and two home runs were both second, his .880 OPS and six stolen bases third, and his .304 batting average fifth. He also logged 15 strikeouts as a relief pitcher. The final member of the All-Region First Team was another first-year,
Kason Pietruszewski (Warroad, Minn./Warroad). The two-way, breakout star led Northwestern in batting average (.398), OPS (.928) stolen bases (12) and pitching wins (5) in his debut season, while finishing second in slugging percentage (.443), on-base percentage (.485) and innings pitched (62.0). He was also named a First Team All-Conference selection as a utility player last month.
In addition to the four First Teamers, UNW landed a pair of student-athletes on the All-Region Second Team.
Parker Huebsch (Woodbury, Minn./New Life Academy) earned the nod after transferring in for his sophomore season and providing some pop in the lineup by finishing second on the team in RBI (32), third in batting average (.316), hits (36) and slugging percentage (.412), and fifth in doubles (6). Joining Huebsch on the Second Team was
Caleb Hautajarvi (Barnum, Minn./Barnum Secondary), who makes his debut on the list. The junior pitcher had success both as a starter and a reliever in 2026, racking up four wins and a complete game in 11 appearances (three starts).
