ST. PAUL, Minn. - Saturday afternoon, the UNW Men's Track and Field team competed in the Gene Glader Classic at Bethel University. Since the men's team participated in a competitive meet yesterday, they only had six athletes on the heat sheet for the meet today.
Khai Greene (Buford, Ga./Mill Creek) ran the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash for the second day in a row. He finished 12th in the 60 with a time of 8.12 and 5th in the 200 with a time of 28.60. Joshua Ringsmuth (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and Samuel Otis (Shoreview, Minn./Homeschool) had a one, two finish in the 600 meter race with times of 1:28.24 and 1:35.15, respectively. Ringsmuth's mark surpassed his previous best time by six seconds. In the 1 mile race, Daniel Rodgers (Kalona, Iowa/Mid-Prairie) notched a top 10 finish. He ran it in 5:20.79 and finished 7th overall.
Ren Hamann (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) participated in the lone field event for the Eagles. In the long jump pit, Hamann leaped the farthest at the meet for a first place finish. His longest jump landed at 6.19 meters (20'3.75") and with this mark, he is ranked 6th in the UMAC overall.
This meet rounded out the regular season for their indoor season. The men will look to make their mark in the UMAC Championships on February 28 and March 1 in Superior, Wisconsin, starting at 1:30 PM on Friday and 10:30 AM on Saturday.
