Aune, Jenniges Earn First Team All-Region Recognition From AVCA

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its Division III Women's Volleyball Region Awards on Wednesday, and a pair of University of Northwestern student-athletes were among those recognized. Marley Aune (New Brighton, Minn./Avail Academy) and Addeson Jenniges (Walnut Grove, Minn./Westbrook-Walnut Grove) were both named to the All-Region 9 First Team.

The full list of AVCA Division III Region Awards can be found here.

Aune's appearance on the All-Region First Team is the second of her career, with the first in 2023. The senior middle blocker has been the heartbeat of the team all season long, as she leads the team in both kills (291) and blocks (143). She is also the Division III active leader in career blocks 537 and is second in Division III this season in total blocks (143). Just last week, Aune was named UMAC Player of the Year as well.

Jenniges's debut on the First Team also comes as no surprise after a breakout sophomore campaign. She is currently tied for fifth in Division III in assists per set (10.57) and was the runaway leader in the UMAC in both assists per set and total assists (1120), in which she ranks ninth in the country. She joined Aune as one of five First Team All-Conference selections from UNW last week.

Aune, Jenniges and the rest of the Eagles are in Bloomington, Illinois, preparing for tomorrow's NCAA Division III National Tournament Round of 64 match against St. Olaf. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
