Aune Earns Academic All-America Status from CSC

AUSTIN, Texas - Tuesday morning, the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Volleyball teams were announced. The teams were chosen by CSC members for all levels of collegiate volleyball, from a pool of Academic All-District honorees who advanced to the All-America ballot last month. Marley Aune (New Brighton, Minn./Avail Academy) of the University of Northwestern was chosen to the Division III Academic All-America Third Team, adding another prestigious award to her resume.

The full CSC press release can be found here.

Aune, whose accolades from just this season alone include AVCA Third Team All-America, AVCA First Team All-Region, UMAC Player of the Year, First Team All-UMAC and NCCAA First Team All-Region, is the third UNW Volleyball player to earn the honor. Abby Glanzer and Marylyn Schroyer were also named to the Third Team in 2022. The New Brighton native, who also received the Susan R. Hellings Award from the NCCAA, finished the season fourth in Division III in blocks (148) and seventh in blocks per set (1.33), both leading the conference by wide margins. The senior also led the team in points per set (426.0), and finished third in both kills (293) and kills per set (2.64). Her 542 career blocks rank second in program history and were the most of any active player in Division III in 2025.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. The all-time list of 44,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science and the arts. Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIAtwo-year colleges and Canadian institutions. Teams are announced year round and amplified by CSC member colleges, universities, and conferences on a wide local, regional, national, and even international scope.
