PELLA, Iowa - In a tough non-conference matchup on Thursday afternoon, the University of Northwestern Women's Soccer team's unbeaten streak came to an end as Central College found the back of the net three times. The loss marks Northwestern's first in 33 days and the first goal conceded since September 27.
The Eagles struggled to generate consistent chances in the attacking third, recording just seven total shots and two on target. Marie Kendall (Dakar, Senegal/Dakar Academy) led the attack, taking both of the Eagles' shots on goal. Her first shot on target came in the 13th minute from deep outside the box. In the 74th minute, she created another opportunity, taking a pass from Briella Babcock (Byron, Minn./Byron) and driving into the box before firing a shot right at the keeper.
Northwestern will look to bounce back in conference play on Saturday, traveling to New Ulm to face Martin Luther at 1 PM.
