ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference has released its Men's and Women's Cross Country postseason awards, and five runners for the University of Northwestern were recognized for their accomplishments in the 2024 season.
Jacob Weddle (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) was named First Team All-UMAC for the first time in his career after finishing 8
th in the UMAC Championship race. He beat his previous personal best by 22 seconds as he clocked a time of 27:19.1. Weddle led the Eagles to a third-place overall team finish.
Bennett Selfridge (Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Christian) ran a new personal best at the UMAC Championship as well. He shaved 44 seconds off his previous record to cross the finish line in 28.09.3. Selfridge was named Second Team All-UMAC. Selfridge was also recognized as Northwestern's Sportsmanship Award recipient.
Caroline Ringsmuth (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) wrapped up another successful campaign and added another First Team All-Conference award to her name. This is the third time Ringsmuth has received All-Conference honors. Ringsmuth's finished the 6K race in 7
th place with a time of 24:24.6, which was the fastest time she has recorded by 20 seconds.
Isabelle Yuhanna (Ham Lake, Minn./North Lakes Academy) finished her rookie season for the Eagles with a time of 24:50.3. She broke her previous best time by 20 seconds and received Second Team All-Conference honors for her 9
th place finish.
Emery Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) was also named Second Team All-UMAC for Northwestern. She placed 11
th in the Championship race and notched a time of 25:01.8. To top off Emery's successful season, she was the female Sportsmanship Award recipient for the Eagles.
The runners' seasons are not done yet, as both the Men's and Women's teams will be competing at the NCCAA National Championships on November 15
th in Warsaw, Indiana.
