LAKEVILLE, Minn. – University of Northwestern Women's Tennis hosted University of Minnesota Morris and University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday at Life Time Fitness in Lakeville for two matches. The Eagles earned an 8-1 conference win over the Cougars and then defeated the Falcons in an 8-1 non-conference contest. With the conference win over Minnesota Morris, the Eagles remained undefeated in the UMAC at 8-0.
Match One: Minnesota Morris Cougars
UNW opened their conference match with UMM by sweeping doubles.
Domiano Baideme (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) and
Elise Jarchow (Luverne, Minn./Luverne) earned the first point with an 8-3 victory at #2 doubles.
Taylar Smith (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) and
Analise Marquardt (Parkers Prairie, Minn./Parkers Prairie) followed with an 8-3 win at #3 doubles.
Annie Orvis (Rochester, Minn/Schaeffer Academy) and
Abby Johnson (Zimmerman, Minn./Homeschool) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 victory in the #1 match.
In singles, the Cougars took the #1 match but the Eagles won the other five to take the 8-1 team win. Johnson won #2 singles 6-2, 6-1. Baideme earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at #3 singles. Jarchow took #4 singles 6-4, 6-3. Smith rallied to win a full three-set marathon in a 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-3 final. Marquardt swept her #6 singles match 6-0, 6-0.
Match Two: University of Wisconsin-River Falls
In the second match of the night, the Eagles took two of the three doubles matches. Orvis and Johnson earned an 8-3 win in the #1 doubles match.
Elli Dodge (Wahpeton, N.D./Wahpeton) and Marquardt won #2 doubles 8-2. The Falcons took the #3 match 8-4 to send the match to the singles competition with UNW leading 2-1.
In singles, the Eagles won all six matches to take the team match 8-1 over UWRF. Baideme won the #1 singles match 6-4, 6-1. Jarchow took #2 singles 6-1, 6-1. Smith earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at #3 singles. Marquardt had a 6-1, 6-4 victory in #4 singles.
Rayna Baumgarn (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) battled her way to a 6-3, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4) win at #5 singles. Dodge wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the #6 match.

Northwestern will host University of Wisconsin-Superior on Sunday, April 23 for a 10:00 a.m. match. UNW will have a chance to clinch the UMAC North Division Championship outright in that match as a win over the Yellowjackets would secure the title.
