SARTELL, Minn. - The Eagle women's tennis team competed in what could be one of their last indoor matches of the season. In a hard-fought match to a solid St. Benedict team, the Eagles fell 0-9.
Doubles started out with some tight scores, proving that the Eagles were not going to go down easy. Some back and forth changeovers ensued, ultimately ending in the Bennie's favor.
Despite going into singles down 0-3, it did have a few bright spots. Senior
Taylar Smith (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) at #4 singles played a close match. Her first set ended in a tiebreaker, followed by a solid second set full of great approach shots and volleys.
Sophomore
Elise Jarchow (Luverne, Minn./Luverne) also had a solid night. After losing the first set, she dominated in the second to bring it to a well-fought third set breaker.
The Eagles have a much deserved weekend off and are next in action on March 29
th at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
