A Sweet Sixteen Reverse-Sweep Sends the Eagles to the Elite Eight for the Second Consecutive Season

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa- #5 University of Northwestern Volleyball erased a 2-0 deficit in their Sweet Sixteen match against #4 Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Eagles pulled off a "reverse sweep" to win 3-2 over the Warhawks. The Eagles won the Cornell College Regional and advanced to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight for the second consecutive season.

Marylyn Schroyer (Ft. Collins, Colo./Ft. Collins), Abby Glanzer (Brandon, S.D./Sioux Falls Christian), and Marley Aune (New Brighton, Minn./Avail Academy) were named to the All-Tournament team for their performances in the three NCAA Tournament games. Glanzer was named Tournament MVP.

Head Coach Beth Wilmeth, senior Kiera Brown (Columbia Falls, Mont./Columbia Falls), and junior Abby Glanzer (Brandon, S.D./Sioux Falls Christian) met with the media after the match and that press conference can be found below.

The Eagles advance to the Elite Eight for the third time in program history after a truly epic match in which they were down to their last breath facing a match point multiple times in both the third and fourth sets. A full game recap will be available tomorrow on UNWEagles.com and updates on the Eagles' schedule can be found on UNWEagles.com as well.

The Elite Eight will take place in California during the week after Thanksgiving.
