MOUNT VERNON, Ia.- Last weekend, the University of Northwestern Volleyball team won their fifth consecutive UMAC Postseason Tournament and qualified for the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the 12
th time in program history.
Here is everything that Eagle Volleyball fans need to know before the team competes in the National Tournament:
The Matchup:
The University of Northwestern Eagles will take on the Edgewood College Eagles at 4:30pm on Thursday, November 16
th. Northwestern is the #1 seed in the region and Edgewood is slated as the #8 seed. This is the first matchup with Edgewood in UNW Volleyball's program history.
In this "Battle of the Eagles" in the first round of the NCAA National Tournament, both teams enter the National Tournament having won their regular season and tournament conference championships.
Northwestern finished the regular season with a 14-0 UMAC record (27-4 overall) and won the UMAC Regular Season Championship outright. Having clinched the top seed in the UMAC Postseason Tournament, the Eagles went on to sweep Martin Luther in the UMAC Semifinals and Wisconsin-Superior in the Championship Game to advance to their 12
th NCAA National Tournament. The Eagles are currently ranked fifth in the country, first in their region, and did not lose a set to a conference opponent all season.
Edgewood is entering the NCAA Division III National Tournament after a thrilling, five set victory in their conference championship game. The Eagles clinched home court advantage throughout the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) Postseason Tournament by winning a share of the regular season title. They defeated Illinois Tech in the quarterfinals and Concordia-Wisconsin in the semifinals before squaring off with Aurora in the championship game. Edgewood squeaked out a five set victory in dramatic fashion (they won the fifth set 16-14) to clinch the second berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament in program history.

Tickets:
For fans traveling to Iowa to watch the Eagles, single-session tickets will be $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and students, $5 for children under 12 and free for children under 2 years. All-session ticket prices are as follows: $20 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and students, $8 for children under 12, and free for children under 2 years.

Watch Party:
The University of Northwestern Athletic Department will be hosting a watch party which will be open to all UNW Eagle fans! Come to the Ericksen Center and watch the Eagles play in the First Round of the NCAA National Tournament. Free pizza will be available to fans on a first come, first served basis. The watch party will take place in the E2110 Classroom on the second floor of the Ericksen Center. Come cheer on the Eagles on the national stage!
