ST. PAUL, Minn.- The American Baseball Coaches Association announced their 2022 All-American teams on Thursday night and
Owen Boerema (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) represented Eagle Baseball by being named a First Team All-American.
Boerema has now picked up two All-American nods for his performance on the mound in 2022. Earlier this week, Boerema was named a Third Team All-American by D3Baseball.com.
The ABCA is highly respected in the college baseball community. The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. There are over 13,000 members representing all 50 states and 25 countries.
Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth.
Boerema is one of 15 Division III players in the country that was named a First Team All-American. The junior finished the season with a 1.42 ERA, 139 strikeouts, and only gave up 14 earned runs in 89 innings.
